Excursion to the Wolmirstedt substation

On 18.04.2023, students and employees from Otto-von-Guericke University were again invited to visit the Wolmirstedt substation. For several hours, the history of the substation, current and future plans as well as the operation of the substation were explained. An important point in the conversation with the substation staff was to discuss the implementation of HVDC systems at Wolmirstedt substation. The guests were also guided through the key points of the substation, such as the open switchgear, the automation and relay protection center and the transformers. The students were able to see and hear the elements studied in the lecture in practice, as well as touch the elements, under the watchful eye of the substation staff.
