NEIS-Conference 2017
At 21th and 22th September researchers of renewable energy, smart grid and electrical power networks came together at the NEIS-conference in Hamburg. In addition to the german researchers, many international experts and students shared their research activities at the Helmut-Schmidt-University of Federal Armed Forces Hamburg. The conference was organized by the Chair of Electrical Power Systems. Beneath very interesting presentations and talks, a field trip to the substation Jenfeld and an Energy-slam in evening completed the schedule.
The LENA was represented by M.Sc. Marc Gebhardt and M.Sc. Maik Plenz. On the second day, Marc Gebhardt presented his research results with the title "Optimal placement and operation strategies of phase shifting transformers based on heuristic algorithms". Afterwards there was a complex discussion about the topic phase-shifter transformers which showed that the topic has a high priority for future grid operation.
There goes a heartfelt thank-you to the organizers of the NEIS-conference for these two perfect days.
