Opal-RT conference 2017
From the 5th to 8th of September there was the 9th Opal-RT conference in the beautiful city Montreal. Under the title “A new era of real time simulation” experts from all over the world and from different sections of the energy systems came together at the RT17. Different topics regarding real time simulation were discussed and there was a brisk information exchange with different companies like Nationl Instruments, ABB, Hydro Quebec, Etap and of course Opal-RT.
LENA also visited this conference represented by Eric Glende. He had a presentation with the topic “HIL-Grid-Model on Opal-RT for Testing Future Grid Control Centers” where he introduced the project DGCC and where he shared the experience with a real time simulator from Opal-RT.
There was also the possibility to get in contact with the developer from the system to get a deeper look in the technology and a better understanding of the system.
At the second evening Opal-RT invited to an impressive Gala Dinner with good food and excellent music, so it was possible to keep social contacts in a relaxed atmosphere.
