Field trip to the substation Wolmirstedt

On the 26th of January 2017, the Chair of Electric Power Networks and Renewable Energy organized a field trip to the substation Wolmirstedt. It is controlled by the transmission system operator 50 Hertz Transmission GmbH. The group of students of electrical engineering and information technology programs of our faculty were eager to become more familiar with the assets in the field. After a short presentation about the location, two groups were guided along the lines, busbars and transformers in the widespread substation. For getting in touch with some ancient milestones, the old grid control center of the region Wolmirstedt was shown (see photo below).
We are very happy and thankful for getting in touch with the elements and the operating systems in the substation. Representative for all workers in the RZ West we would like to thank Mr. Mötzing and Mr. Berger for their time.
