LENA at the SEPOC 2024 in Brazil
The 16th Seminar on Power Electronics and Control (SEPOC 2024) is scheduled to take place from October 20-23, 2024, at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) in Brazil. This hybrid-format conference centers on advancements in power electronics and control, with the 2024 theme, “Smart Energy Systems for the Future: Optimizing Control and Efficiency,” addressing innovations in control systems, smart grids, and energy efficiency.
The event gathers international academics, industry professionals, and students to explore topics such as the reliability of electrical networks, the role of microgrids, and energy efficiency in industrial applications. SEPOC 2024 provides a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, technical discussions, and professional networking. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in presentations, panel sessions, and technical papers that showcase the latest research and developments in power electronics and control systems.
This event happened in hybrid format. Anurag Sharma, master student of LENA Chair, have presented the paper with title “Analysis of Renewable-Based Microgrid Energy Management and the impact of storage system” in a hybrid form. The paper presented a methodology for energy management in microgrids by comparing the two scenarios, with battery energy storage system and another is without it. As a result of the first scenario, the system enhanced its flexibility, reducing operation costs associated with grid transactions. The goal is to increase flexibility, reduce carbon footprint, cost and support the transition to sustainable energy systems.
