LENA staff member at PowerTech 2017
PowerTech is the IEEE PES anchor conference in Europe and has been attended by hundreds of delegates from around the world. It is an international forum with exciting programme for individuals working in industry and academia, to network, exchange ideas, and discuss the results of their research and development work. This year the conference was held during 18-22 June at the University of Manchester, England. The conference was the largest gathering of international researchers and practitioners working in the general area of electrical power engineering outside the USA in 2017 and possibly the largest such conference ever held in the UK and certainly the largest to be held in the UK for a generation.
The conference was included 4 Tutorials and 600+ Technical Presentations including 500+ Technical papers (of which 70+ are IEEE PES Transaction Papers), 90+ presentations in Special Sessions, and 10 Keynote Speeches. It was attended by 689 registered delegates who made the IEEE PowerTech Manchester 2017 a great success!
The Chair Electric Power Networks and Renewable Energy Sources (LENA) was represented by Ms. Iryna Chychykina with the presentation “Comparison Of Different Redispatch Optimization Strategies“. In this paper several optimization methods for the solving of the redispatch optimization problem, such as simplex, genetic algorithms, particle swarm optimization and mean variable mapping optimization, are introduced and compared.
