MEDPOWER 2018
The 11th Mediterranean Conference on Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Energy Conversion was held on 12-15 November 2018 in Cavtat. Experts from the power and energy sector of Europe came together to discuss stat-of-the-art developments with the focus on system operation, energy market or the integration of ICT into the energy system. Eric Glende presented a paper with the topic „Testing IEC 60870-5-104 and C37.118 Based Control Center Applications Using a Real Time Simulation Platform“ and discussed a possible ICT solution for future grid control centers. This work was part of the project Dyna Grid Control Center (www.siemens.com/dynagridcenter).
The conference was very well organized with lots of different and specialized topics for any kind of interest. The industry also had the possibility to introduce interesting projects during some Keynotes. There were several possibilities to do some activities and come together for some discussions during the conference. The location was close to the Adriatic Sea and to the beautiful and historical city Dubrovnik. There was a guided tour to Dubrovnik with lots of information about the history.
