EnergyCon 2018
This year's EnergyCon2018 was in Cyprus, where 170 researcher from all over the world shared their latest research results. Two attendees from the LENA have been there to talk about their studies. During the 4 days of the conference, multiple topics of power systems have been adressed like Micro Grids, communication technology, battery storage systems, energy market and many more.
André Richter had a presentation with the topic "Under-Frequency Load Shedding in the European Interconnection System - A multi-country model for UFLS analyzation under the impact of renewables" and Eric Glende had a poster on the poster session with the title "Optimal operational management methods of voltage control with a high feed of renewable energy sources".
During the event there was an excursion to 9000 years old settlement of the stone age called "Choirokoitia". Old shelters gave some indication of the life in those days. Afterwards there was a trip to an olive farm with a huge olive tree and historicl olive presses. Finally we drove through 12 million olive trees to a beautiful estate in the inland with a delicious dinner and Greek Cypriot dances and music.
