Field trip to Enercon
On July 13, 2017, Enercon allowed students to look behind the scenes at Magdeburg for a few hours. A public transport was used to reach Enercon in Magdeburg-Rothensee . The research assistant Nicola Gast took charge of the excursion from the Chair for Electrical Networks and Renewable Energy.
After a friendly greeting, a few words about the company and a compact introduction into the safety regulations, the company was equipped with warning lights in the production hall of the largest German wind turbine manufacturer.
During the two-hour tour the individual production processes, which have to be passed by a wind power plant, were explained in detail. Likewise, the many emerging questions of the groups were addressed in a very detailed and expert manner. Apart from the technical and physical properties, it was above all possible to gain an impression of the dimensions of such wind turbine systems and their individual components.
In the name of the chair as well as the students, I would like to thank you very much for this tour with Enercon and especially with Mrs. Garloff, who have given us an insight into the production process despite the ongoing operation.
