ILEP Kick-off
On Friday, 09.11.2018, the launch of the project "ILEP Development of a Dynamic Integrated Load and Generation Forecast" took place in the headquarters of the transmission system operator 50Hertz Transmission GmbH in Berlin. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). Over the next 3 years, LENA scientists will work closely with employees from 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, the Fraunhofer IFF and Siemens AG to develop a new concept for dynamic integrated load and infeed forecasting.
The kick-off event started with a brief introduction of the project consortium. After an introduction and acknowledgement by the project leader Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Martin Wolter, the university presented its goals for the ILEP project in more detail. The event ends with two presentations by the consortium partners. First, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Przemyslaw Komarnicki from the Fraunhofer IFF (IFF) in Magdeburg presented approaches and ideas for working on the ILEP project. Finally, Ms. Gronau from 50Hertz Transmission GmbH presented both the current state of the art of determining and using load and infeed forecasts in-house as well as the ideas and objectives resulting from them.
