LENA at the ISGT NA 2023
The IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies, North America (ISGT NA 2023) conference is a forum to discuss the latest issues, trends, and innovative technologies for the decarbonized resilient grid of the future. This annual flagship conference offers electrical engineers and scientist in electrical power engineering a platform to present their work and exchange experiences and ideas in an international environment. This year the conference took place for the 14th time from January 16th to 19th in Washington D.C. in the USA.
Our LENA chair was there, represented by Mr. Martin Fritsch, who was able to present new research results from our partial discharge project. This project is about improving inductive partial discharge sensors. A major problem of such sensors is core saturation of their ferromagnetic material during online monitoring. The paper entitled „Determination of the Optimal Air Gap of an HFCT“ shows a way how to optimally avoid such core saturation. The conference paper was presented during a poster session. The discussions with the international colleagues have been very enriching.
