Participation in the ISGT Asia 2024 in India
The 13th IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies, Asia Conference is an IEEE PES flagship conference organized in Asia. IEEE PES ISGT 2024 was sponsored by IEEE Power & Energy Society and hosted by IEEE PES Bangalore Chapter from November 10-13, 2024 in Bengaluru, India. IEEE PES ISGT 2024 Asia was a meeting place for representatives from power utilities, industry, vendors and service providers, academia and research and development organizations. The conference provides a platform for the exchange of experiences, new ideas and enabling technologies to address the enormous challenges facing the power and energy industry in the face of decarbonization and the integration of a high share of renewable energy sources into future power grids.
Eric Glende from the LENA Chair was represented with a scientific publication entitled “Detection of circular transformer flows”. This research topic deals with power flow decomposition, which is primarily used in Europe for the identification of loop flows. In particular, the effects of transformers are being investigated and a method presented for identifying them.
Numerous contacts were made at the conference and new research findings from Asia were identified that will help in the participants' own research areas and have provided new food for thought. In addition to numerous interesting panel and paper sessions, traditional Indian food was also provided and there was a cultural evening program with typical Indian dances.
