Project SmartMES at VDI conference
On 13 and 14 December, the VDI conference on "Sector coupling in the area of industry, networks and neighborhoods" took place in Frankfurt am Main. In a small group, current and past research projects and applications were presented and discussed. For example, topics such as power-to-gas and power-to-heat applications were presented in lectures, but funding issues for such technologies were also addressed. In addition, considering the achievement of the Federal Government's Climate Goals 2050, the design options and the need for sector coupling with representatives from industry and research were discussed.
The conference provided a good opportunity for the SmartMES project team to interact with users and other research organizations. Here, new approaches and suggestions for the further project approaches could be discussed and so new aspects can be included in the project. On the part of the industry representatives, the profitability analysis and the planned multi-market model were in the foreground.
