LENA at ISGT LA 2019
On September 15-18 the Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference Latin America (ISGT LA) 2019 took place in Gramado, Brasilien. The ISGT LA is part of a worldwide conference series of the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES). This year’s focus was about the opportunities and challenges in Smart Grids and Microgrids in Latin America. Here topics such as the design and operation of smart grids, information and communication technology and computational intelligence were addressed.
The chair was represented by Prof. Wolter and M.Sc Jonte Dancker. Prof Wolter participated in a discussion panel about grid operation and planning and gave a short overview about the European electricity grid and its challenges. M.Sc Jonte Dancker presented an analysis of an integrated energy system from the project SmartMES with the topic „Optimal design and operation of a CHP based district heating system including a heat storage and electrode boiler to increase self-consumption“.
The conference gave a good overview on topics which are of interest to universities and companies in Latin America. Furthermore, the evening events provided a goof opportunity for an exchange of ideas.
