Inkola Kickoff
With a kickoff event on the 27th July, the project “Infrastructure Coupling - Placement and Operation of Charging Stations from a Traffic and Energy Network View” (InKoLa) was presented in Burg. The project InKoLa will develop an application-oriented concept for the optimal placement, supply and operation of charging infrastructure from a grid and traffic point of view. The concept will consider renewable energy sources and will be used to select charging points in the city of Burg. Then, based on the determined locations charging points will be installed. The project will be conducted by the LENA and the Chair of Logistic Systems of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg in collaboration with the city of Burg.
The mayor of the City of Burg Jörg Rehbaum opened the event and described the goals of the climate concept of his city. One of the main goals is to decrease the CO2 production, caused by the individual transport sector, by strengthening electric mobility. After that, the project “InKoLa” was presented to the mayor, the City Council of Burg and reporters. The project leader Jun.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ines Hauer from the LENA Chair named the upcoming tasks to be dealt with to integrate the charging infrastructure into the electric grid. Niels Schmidtke of the Chair ILM presented the essential planning to determine the ideal location for the charging stations.
Meanwhile the presentation, the Hiwis introduced the project to the visitors on an exhibition stand of the associated partner “Stadtwerke Burg Energienetze GmbH”. Furthermore, they surveyed the visitors about their driving behavior, concrete suggestions for locations of charging stations and required incentives to improve the attractiveness of electric mobility.
