Research visit to the UFSM in Santa Maria, Brazil
From February 24 to 28, members of the LENA Chair traveled to the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM) in Brazil. The visit was part of the DAAD/CAPES-funded research project PROBRAL.
The project workshop focused on the further development of the transatlantic co-simulation and the evaluation of initial results. In addition, a second task force worked on the development of various case studies, whereby promising application scenarios were intensively discussed and concretized.
In addition to the productive PROBRAL project meetings, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Martin Wolter and Dr.-Ing. Mauro Dos Santos Ortiz presented the German-Brazilian Engineering Academy (DeBraIA), which is to be implemented as part of a DAAD-funded project. The presentation took place in a large auditorium and marked another important milestone in the cooperation between OVGU Magdeburg and UFSM Santa Maria - with the potential to extend the cooperation to other universities or universities of applied sciences in Germany and Brazil in the future.
The entire visit proved to be extremely successful and fruitful for future academic cooperation between the two universities. The workshops and presentations held enabled an intensive scientific exchange and provided a valuable platform for discussing new ideas and projects. Through the joint activities, the existing structures and collaborations were consolidated and sustainably strengthened and the implementation of the transatlantic co-simulation was further advanced.
