LENA at the ETG Congress 2017 in Bonn
Just one week after the world climate conference COP23, the Congress of the Technology Association VDE (ETG Congress) took place in Bonn. From 28th to 29th of November 2017, over 300 experts from research and application discussed blueprints and concrete application cases for the success of the "Energiewende" under the title "Die Energiewende - Blueprint for the New Energy Age". The focus was on the question of the best instructions for a successful change of the energysystem.
VDE-trip to Berlin
Am Donnerstag fand eine Exkursion der Hochschulgruppe des VDE Magdeburg nach Berlin statt, an der neben Studenten der OvGU und der Hochschule Magdeburg auch Mitarbeiter des LENA teilnahmen.
NEIS-Conference 2017
At 21th and 22th September researchers of renewable energy, smart grid and electrical power networks came together at the NEIS-conference in Hamburg. In addition to the german researchers, many international experts and students shared their research activities at the Helmut-Schmidt-University of Federal Armed Forces Hamburg. The conference was organized by the Chair of Electrical Power Systems. Beneath very interesting presentations and talks, a field trip to the substation Jenfeld and an Energy-slam in evening completed the schedule.
Opal-RT conference 2017
From the 5th to 8th of September there was the 9th Opal-RT conference in the beautiful city Montrel. Under the title “a new era of real time simulation” experts from all from over the world and from different sections of the energy systems came together at the RT17. Different topics regarding real time simulation were discussed and there was a brisk information exchange with different companies like Nationl Instruments, ABB, Hydro Quebec, Etap and of course Opal-RT.

From the 24th to the 28th of July, the Chair of Electrical Networks and Renewable Energy (LENA) attended a training course at PSI (Products and Systems of Information Technology). The chair was represented by five scientific staff members as well as three students. PSI is a company that has been concerned with the development of software systems for more than 45 years.
